How do I know whether Dynamics NAV Ignite is right for my business?

Dynamics NAV Ignite is suitable for small to medium-sized businesses that have outgrown their existing systems or are considering their first financial business management system. How does Dynamics NAV Ignite differ from Microsoft Dynamics NAV?

Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2017 is a comprehensive, customisable ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system with the level of functionality needed to meet the requirements of organisations with complex processes. Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 can be delivered on your own servers or hosted ‘in the cloud’.

Dynamics NAV Ignite takes the essential elements of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 and delivers them in four pre-configured packages with core functionality - and pricing structures - specifically designed to meet the requirements of smaller and medium-sized businesses. Dynamics NAV Ignite is a hosted solution meaning there is no initial outlay for hardware or the associated maintenance costs.

What do I need to get started?

As Dynamics NAV Ignite is delivered as a hosted solution, there is no need for expensive hardware or the associated maintenance costs. You will need a reliable internet connection, ideally at least 10mb broadband.

Will Dynamics NAV Ignite work with my existing systems?

If you are using Microsoft Office then, yes! One of the key benefits of Dynamics NAV is that it works with, and like your existing systems, meaning it’s quick to learn and easy to use.

How many users can I add to my Dynamics NAV Ignite package?

There’s no minimum number of users, but there is a maximum of 10. If your organisation needs more than 10 users, Technology Management is ideally placed to discuss the benefits of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and the options available to you.

My business is growing, what happens when I need more functionality?

As Dynamics NAV Ignite is delivered in pre-configured packages, you can start with our core financials package then easily extend to Financials Plus, Trading or Trading Plus in just a few extra days. As your operations grow and become more complex, Technology Management can provide expert advice and continuation of support which enables you to make the transition to the advanced capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics NAV in full. Can I add and remove users?

Yes you can add users as required but will be invoiced for the full month you are in. Notifications of reductions in users must be placed by the 10th of the month to take effect the following month.

How many companies can I add to my package?

The implementation cost for each package accounts for 1 company and up to 10 users. Speak to an advisor about adding multiple companies on 01902 578300.

Can I customise the package I have chosen by adding just one item of functionality from a different package?

Changes to the packages outside the defined package options are chargeable at our standard consultancy rates. For a solution that sits outside the available packages, please call our advisors on 01902 578300 to discuss how we can meet your software requirements.

Can I modify the package, such as adding a field or changing a process, for example; the point at which you invoice?

Yes, however, any customisation is additional chargeable work.

Can we use our own templates for documents?

There are 3 document layout packs to choose from, and these packs can be customised with your own branding. To discuss this further please call our advisors on 01902 578300.

Do you offer a limited user option?

Yes, but there are caveats and only full user packages are shown. Please call our advisors to discuss this option.

What do the implementation costs cover?

The fixed price implementation fee includes installation, configuration, training and a half-day’s assistance for your first month close. To discuss the Implementation Plan for any of the packages in more detail, including what is expected from both parties, please contact us on 01902 578300.

How do I transfer my data into Dynamics NAV?

Implementation covers the initial installation and configuration. Technology Management provides templates to assist with the import of data such as customers, vendors and products and the import of opening balances.

Can I use my own Chart of Accounts?

Dynamics NAV Ignite comes with a predefined Chart of Accounts. However, for specific requirements, please speak to an advisor on 01902 578300.

How is training delivered?

Full, workshop-style training will be delivered on-site. Training will take place over a set number of consecutive days* and will cover all relevant package functionality, including a quiz to test learning. Users will also be able to sign in to our online training library which provides access to user guides and training videos to assist learning.

What are the Customer Support costs for Dynamics NAV Ignite, and what is included?

Standard support (8:45am -5:15pm Monday to Friday) covering the day-today issues with the system is included Free of Charge in the monthly software price per user. It will be capped at 10 incidents/5 hours per month – whichever comes first. Training is included in the initial implementation, through Technology Management’s free knowledge seminars and the resources made available.

Who will be supporting my system?

Dynamics NAV Ignite customers can rest assured that they are supported by one of the largest dedicated support teams amongst Microsoft Dynamics NAV Partners, with offices based right here in the UK. What version of Dynamics NAV is Dynamics NAV Ignite?

Dynamics NAV Ignite is delivered as a hosted solution. What happens if we lose our Internet connection?

The benefits of a hosted solution is you can work wherever there is an internet connection; at the office, at home or even in a restaurant! As Dynamics NAV is a critical business system, we do recommend that you consider an SLA with your internet provider.

What do you mean by ‘Access Anywhere’?

Dynamics NAV Ignite can be accessed using virtually any device that accepts a web browser, with the same high, level of security as you would receive working from your desktop Mac or PC.

Can Dynamics NAV Ignite be accessed offline?

No, Dynamics NAV Ignite is a hosted solution.

What measures are taken to backup my data?

How secure is my data?

24/7 monitoring, CCTV cameras, a steel encased server room, safety locks and more ensure that only authorised personnel can enter Technology Management’s data centre—your data is always safe and secure. Firewalls, anti-virus software and SSL (secure socket layer) encrypted logins protect your systems from virtual threats, while communication between the server and your browser is over secure HTTPS connections. Who has visibility of my data, passwords, etc.?

Only Technology Management and your authorised users have visibility of your data.

How are payments made?

There is a fixed price implementation fee, followed by regular monthly payments based on the number of users you have. Monthly payments are made in advance.

Why is the fee per user the same across all 4 packages when they all have different levels of functionality?

This fee is the same because you have already purchased the full functionality of Dynamics NAV Ignite, implementing it in pre-configured packages.

What is the minimum contract term?

The minimum contract term is 12 months.

What happens if I want to take all my data out of the system?

Exporting your data would be a chargeable exercise, depending on the level of data you need.

Is it possible to transfer support to another Microsoft Partner?

What version of Office 365 is included?

Office 365 (Midsize Business Edition) is included within the Dynamics Ignite software subscription price from £120 per user, per month. The suite includes the following applications;

  • Microsoft OneNote

  • Microsoft Skype for Business
  • Microsoft InfoPath

Office 365 is powered by the cloud, you can get to your applications and files from virtually anywhere on almost anything; PC, Mac, tablets and phones. Running under a subscription basis they'll always be up to date. Same goes for updates to features - you get them automatically.
